Everyone who has ever worked with Tom Cruise will tell you that he has sent them a very particular white chocolate coconut cake for Christmas ever since. Well, almost everyone. Gal Gadot told Dax Shepard that, despite having worked with Cruise on the film Knight and Day in 2010, she is not on the actor’s fabled cake list. Which is totally fine.
On his Armchair Expert podcast, Shepard asked Gadot if she’d ever received a Cruise Cake, then quickly backtracked when she shook her head. “Nevermind, there’s no cake!” Shepard joked. It seems Gadot had never even heard of the cake tradition before this, because she asked in confusion, “he makes cakes?” Shepard explained, “He sends the same cake to everyone… most of the people he’s worked with.” Luckily, Gadot insisted she is not bothered by the oversight, as she doesn’t even like cakes. Plus, they only worked together for one night many years ago.
When you think about it, it does seem impossible for Cruise to send a Christmas cake to literally everyone he’s ever worked with. But, then again, he’s been sending Dakota Fanning a pair of shoes for her birthday every year since she was 11. The politics of Cruise’s cake list remain a mystery.
