Indian Economy & Business- An Overview of Recent Developments- by Ashish Agarwal
Reviewed in India on 1 December 2017Indian Economy & Business- Overview of Recent Trends and Events: A Must for Students of Management, Finance and Economics
Got attracted by the title and the author who is a professional engineer cum manager with brilliant academic background. The author is highly learned and well qualified to write on such a complex issue. The complexity is reflected in grasping the subject and presenting all of them in a lucid manner. The book provides objective information and analytical insights on important events that influenced the economy during 2016-17.
As it is well known, corporate sector is highly leveraged and many big houses are not in a position to service their debts. One of the reasons being over investment by assuming robust growth in domestic and export demand. Thus it has led to capacity under-utilisation.
This is caused mainly by governance issues including risk appetite of the individual industry. This is an excellent book to answer many queries and it also generates many relevant questions.
My verdict would be it is highly useful for students pursuing management, candidates preparing for competitive examinations, and also for general readers.
