Is there a general recommendation for best Currency Exchange in Phuket?

I was always recommended to use Super Rich1965 in BKK, but I believe they are not in Phuket…

My girlfriend and I are planning a vacation getaway somewhere in Thailand for around a month. She came across this collection of private villas in Phuket called "88 Best Villas". Not exactly a fan of having numbers in the name but sure, whatever. My girlfriend is absolutely enthralled by the villas they do feature and since I'm planning to propose I thought I might as well give it a shot. But before I do anything I just wanna do my due diligence if they're legit or at least heard of them before. Any help would be appreciated like other recommendations and stuff. Thanks a lot!

Now here's the scam:

As your focus diverts to inspecting the rental bike, the vendor will change the "5,000" to "3,000" on your rental paperwork.

Trust me - the scammers are skilled and experienced. The intent is to distract you.

Advice: It does not matter if vendor is a sweet old lady. Take a photo of the amount you pay to vendor. Only sign rental paperwork after you check it and take a photo of paperwork immediately after.

As soon as you allow vendor to scribble the "3" into a "5", it would be too late. It does not matter if you spotted her in the act.

I recently ran the idea past a good friend who spent a week in Phuket and said that he got f*cked by the local mafia there on several occasions regarding taxis.

Now, I'm not the least bit concerned because we have our own transportation and I don't plan on using the taxis, but my friend said if we have a car we'll still get f*cked on parking.

Are these reasons really enough to do away with the idea of living in Phuket?

in additional, where can i hire local driver with car?

Does anyone know if there will be any events marking ANZAC day in Phuket this year

Went to dinner tonight at the Gypsy Seafood village and had a very good seafood dinner . Good quality snd service. 

I was however disappointed when we bought our prawns to see that the king prawns were listed at several stalls at 1800 baht per kG ! 

When my wife questioned the price she was told that the price for Thais was 550 baht per kilo .

The attitude towards Farangs and Tourists continues to be disgusting and Shame on Phuket . 

Some things never change I suppose ?

Anyway what is it like to ride a motorcycle across that bridge? Is it like Check Point Charlie with a gate and guards that stop everyone and ask for your identity papers and some vaccination status? 

does anyone here drive over that bridge every day? what is it like now? anyone go there with out of province plates?

If I am stopped and make a run for it will I be shot in the back like Frank Sinatra in Von Ryan's Express? 

I'm thinking of staying in Phuket Old Town. However, I'm curious what people like and dislike about Phuket Old Town?

I know I can ask host of a particular property before booking it but I'd like to ask experienced thaigers first.

Hi guys, I'm from the UK and contemplating coming out to Phuket in august to make the most of the sandbox, but I've got a few questions: 

1: What areas are seemingly the most active? I imagine most of the island is quite dead but going to areas that have a little bit of life would be good. 

2: Leaving phuket after 14 days to go elsewhere then back to phuket to fly back to UK - does this pose a problem? Would I need to quarantine again for 14 days on re-entry to phuket. Would I be able to get back into the UK If I were to do this? I'm considering Koh samui/phagnan but wont even try if it poses a logistical nightmare.  

3: Whats the best insurance to take out if required to relocate to a quarantine hotel (meaning I lose out on prepaid accomodation), do many offer refunds? 

Also, I'm mainly coming to just relax and chill and finish a book I am writing. What's the deal with spa's? are they open? Can we use them?

Oh also one more thing, once the 14 days are up will I have to still stay in Sha+ hotels around Phuket? Or am I free to choose any I like? And also are trips to Koh Yao Noi/yai allowed? 

Any info would be great, there's very little info on the net from people on the ground there!

Went to central chidlom food hall and noticed it was much like a wholefoods in toronto. I'd never eat at whole foods in toronto, way too expensive but I saw central eatery on grab and ordered some food because of a coupon, the food was actually pretty good, not really taste wise (wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing) but health wise and quality wise it was amazing. Prices are pretty fair too, about $2 for a meal with the coupon, I get 4 meals for 250 baht delivered, the place is called central eatery.

if anyone knows of any other places that has food similar to this, please let me know (healthy, reasonably priced food)
