BBC Studioworks

The BBC Studioworks team were pleased to join colleagues from across the industry at yesterday’s RTS London Convention. Highlights included Ayoade Bamgboye’s impassioned (and very funny!) talk about comedy and Graham Norton’s reflections on his career and production company. With both Saturday Night Live UK and The Graham Norton Show filmed with us at Television Centre, it was particularly rewarding to hear from talent behind two shows playing such a prominent role in television comedy and entertainment today. Steven Knight also reflected on his career and the importance of Digbeth Loc. Studios to creative communities across the West Midlands, alongside his appreciation of the BBC as one of the country’s best-known and most valued institutions. As the operator of Digbeth Loc. Studios, we’re proud to support that vision, creating opportunities for local talent and helping the region’s production community thrive. A reminder of the creativity, people, and partnerships at the heart of our industry, and why we love helping bring it all to screen! #BBCStudioworks #RTSLondonConvention #TelevisionCentre #DigbethLocStudios #CreativeIndustries #WeAreStudioworks SO Television Ltd

Two highlights this week. A visit to the Taskmaster studio record to catch up with some familiar faces, and the Head of Production essentials course with Media Career Advice. Both a good reminder of what great television looks like from the inside! Thank you Hannah Gosney at MCA. Highly recommend to anyone working in unscripted.

We’re proud to see Steven Knight sharing the Digbeth Loc. Studios story at the RTS London Convention, reflecting on the vision that brought Peaky Blinders home and the opportunities we’re helping create for productions and local talent. Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Hammersmith & Fulham Council Business Awards. It was fantastic to see so many local businesses recognised at a brilliant evening hosted at Hammersmith’s newly refurbished Civic Campus, with around 400 people from across the borough’s business community in attendance. BBC Studioworks was proud to support the awards, with Ant Brown our Creative Diversity Partner joining the judging panel across two categories and presenting the Creative Business of the Year award on stage. Celebrating local creativity, enterprise and community is hugely important to BBC Studioworks and events like this are a valuable reminder of the strength of the Hammersmith and Fulham business network we are proud to be part of. #WeAreStudioworks

Last week, BBC Studioworks was delighted to welcome nearly half of the BBC’s newest apprentices to Television Centre as part of their induction day. With more than 48,000 applications received and 400 apprentices joining teams across the BBC, it was a privilege to play a small part in welcoming the next generation of talent into the industry. The day concluded with a presentation from our team and a behind-the-scenes tour of TC3, offering apprentices a glimpse into one of the UK’s most iconic television studios and the work that goes into bringing world-class productions to life. A huge welcome to all of this year’s apprentices. We can’t wait to see where your BBC journeys take you. #WeAreStudioworks #BBCApprentices BBC
