Atlanta's World Cup moment is still months away. We got there first. On April 7, Square partnered with Showcase Atlanta to bring 75+ Atlanta small business owners through a full day of hands-on training — hardware activation, seller consultations, and honest conversation about what it actually takes to handle FIFA level demand without losing what makes a neighborhood business worth visiting. Sellers didn't just hear from Square, they heard from each other. A panel of 4 Atlanta business owners Lauren Burke Bennett (Urban Grind), Aaron Fender (Portrait Coffee), Rosa Thurnher (El Ponce), and Aliah Jefferson (Zaddy's) shared what scaling under pressure really looks like, grounded in lived experience, not product features. Sellers moved through industry specific training stations, left with hardware in hand, and real feedback from the floor got routed to product teams in real time. This was rooted in relationships that existed long before FIFA became the headline because we believe that's the only way it works. Thank you to Showcase Atlanta for anchoring this in the community.

About us
Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together. So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next-generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale. Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business and helping sellers worldwide do the same. Square is part of Block, Inc. (NYSE: SQ), a global technology company with a focus on financial services.

Twelve locations. One bustling city. Zero compromises. ☕ World of Coffee kicks off today, and we can't think of a better moment to celebrate what Birch Coffee has built across New York City, powered by Square. Cafés don't get a pass on complexity. High transaction volumes, shift work across locations, tight real estate, and fierce competition. Square addresses these demands in a single solution, so operators can focus on the craft instead of the chaos. "It's easy to use, easy to train on, and easy to scale with,” said Jeremy Lyman, Co-Founder, Birch Coffee Read the full story here: https://squ.re/birch And if you're in San Diego for World of Coffee, come find us. ✌️
