It's time for our Creative of The Month, where we celebrate and platform Penguin Cover Design Award alumni! 📚 This month we're celebrating Jiazhen, who was shortlisted in this year's competition with her redesign of ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ by Madeleine L’Engle. Jiazhen is an illustrator and designer 💫 ‘Inspired by literature and visual research, my practice is rooted in the essence of storytelling, from single image to sequential imagery. Through past projects, I found my great interest in publishing-based image making, where working with content and research makes the process fascinating. Ideas and stories from literature are used as a probe, which I reinterpret into illustration, rather than simply translate. Before becoming an illustrator and designer, I studied ceramics and mixed media. I bring my experience into my illustration practice. I enjoy experimenting with different textures, graphics, colours, and layouts, and exploring narrative and touch through observation.'
