Using ChatGPT to prep for a candidate call can be helpful… Having to copy in the resume, find your latest notes and explain what happened on the previous call first? Less helpful. 😂 Today we launched SourceWhale’s MCP 🐳 It connects Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP-compatible AI tools to the candidates, clients, roles and conversations already living in SourceWhale. The context is already there - and now your AI can use it too, whether you’re at your desk or on the go 🤳 So instead of constantly rebuilding the backstory, you can: 🔹 Catch up on candidates, client or roles without digging through notes. 🔹 Find the details you need, from salary and relocation to changes in the brief. 🔹 Add notes, update supported information or move candidates through the pipeline without leaving the conversation. Your AI tools don’t need another recap. Now they can start with what your team already knows 🐳

Most software companies seem to be rushing to launch an MCP at the moment. Nobody wants to be labelled “legacy SaaS” for not having one. We kept ours in beta a little longer because the point wasn’t to just recreate SourceWhale inside Claude. We’re all building AI and agents into our own platforms already. So when does using an MCP actually make sense? For me, it gets interesting when SourceWhale’s data needs to meet something else: -Checking the latest candidate information from Claude on your phone while you’re out. -Pulling SourceWhale data into a bespoke, branded slide deck alongside data you’ve already brought into ChatGPT from other systems. -Combining recent client interactions from SourceWhale with new vacancies and company news to build a briefing doc for tomorrow’s meeting using your own agent. We’re not trying to convince every recruiter to move their workflow into a separate AI chat window. We’re giving them another way to use SourceWhale’s context from whichever AI tools they already choose to work in. Different agentic route. Same underlying context. And it’s already live.

🚀 Recruiters looking to break into SaaS Sales - this could be your opportunity. We’re hiring Sales Development Representatives at SourceWhale to join our London team in Q4 🐳 And we’re particularly interested in speaking to recruiters with 6-12 months of business development experience who are ready to take their commercial skills into SaaS. If you’re already comfortable with: → Building relationships from scratch → Picking up the phone and creating opportunities → Handling objections and rejection → Working towards ambitious targets → Thriving in a fast-paced environment …you’ve already built many of the skills needed to succeed as an SDR. 📍 London – Shoreditch 🏢 Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office And there’s another reason I’m excited to be hiring for the team. 🏆 SourceWhale has been rated top company in London to work for on RepVue, with a score of 98.14 - putting us in the top 5% of companies on the platform. Most importantly, those ratings come from the people actually doing the job. If you’re currently in recruitment and have been thinking about making the move into SaaS Sales, I’d love to hear from you. 👇 Apply via the link below, or drop me a message if you’d like to learn more.

Recruiters would probably quite like to start the day actually recruiting. Minor issue: first you have to work out what happened yesterday. 😂 Which jobs are moving, who needs chasing, what changed on that call annd which client you promised you’d get back to three days ago. For those who don’t have SourceWhale yet... 👀 a lot of good recruiting still relies on context that lives in someone’s head. And the answer isn’t another dashboard full of information to sift through. It’s opening your day to what needs your attention, why it matters, and what you can do about it, with the context already there. Less piecing things together. More getting on with it. A little food for thought 🧠 from our CRO Dougie Loan's recent chat with The Elite Recruiter Podcast Watch the full episode here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e9YpQJfb

  • Meet the people powering the [ AI Recruitment ] platform 🐳 ⚡ This is Hanna 👋 a Junior Software Engineer at SourceWhale. We grabbed her for a few minutes to chat about what sparked her passion for software, why diverse teams build better tech and what she loves about working at SourceWhale. Turns out, good Slack etiquette goes a long way 🤭 And because this is SourceWhale, we had to ask about her favourite whale. Hanna’s pick takes us back a few million years…

As we've built the SourceWhale CRM, creating a single-tab experience has been front of mind at every step 🙌. We capture 100% of the context so that our AI-native system and the SourceWhale Agent can work from the full picture. Then we present that picture to the recruiter in one easy way. Take the contact record, for example. 📲 All key information such as salary and notice period is automatically updated based on conversations - not manual input. 📧 Every call, meeting, email and interaction is tracked automatically and displayed in one area. And you can start the next one from right inside the Contact view too. 💡Going further than the contact, you can view key info on the org like its history, funding rounds and active role positions 🐳And if you can't be bothered to do it yourself, just ask the Agent what's on your mind and have the insight delivered instantly Constantly being told that this experience is what recruiters have craved for years. Glad we're the one to finally deliver it!

SourceWhale’s product from 2 years ago would be struggling right now. Specialised into one aspect of the recruitment journey, outreach, and trying to bolt on AI features to make it work better. For years, the recruiter was the integration layer. The process held together in your head, moving between sourcing, outreach tool, the CRM/ATS, the inbox, and the Zoom/Teams call, keeping the context straight through judgement and memory. AI was supposed to take that off us. And it can, but only up to a point. Its real strength is connection; it reasons across everything you give it. Point it at a single tool, and it only ever sees a fragment, and a fragment is all you'll get back. That's why bolting AI onto a fragmented stack was never going to work. The point tool hasn't died but certain ones are quietly becoming a feature. That was SourceWhale 2 years ago - we have lived it more than others who just preach it. What matters now is the layer that can see across all of it. It's the reason we built SourceWhale the way we did. The communication layer first- as that's where the important context sits for recruiters. Every call, email, message, interview and note in one place, so that any AI functionality works from the full picture, not a fragment. One system, with the context underneath. Consolidation used to be about saving money. Now it's structural, because your AI is only ever as good as what it can see. So ask yourself. Does the AI you're paying for actually understand your desk? Or is it just another feature?

New look. Same SourceWhale 👀 We've refreshed our platform: new colours, new fonts, easier on the eyes. Nothing about how you work has changed. Just how it looks while you do it. Pick what suits you: ☀️ Light 🌚 Dark 🔄 Auto (matches your device) Your pipeline doesn't care what mode it's in. But your eyes might.

“I think the day of point solutions is dead.” Dougie Loan explains why fragmented recruitment technology stacks could become a major limitation as businesses adopt more advanced AI. A recruiter might use one platform for sourcing, another for meeting notes, and another as the CRM. Even when those tools are integrated, there is no guarantee that every piece of information has transferred correctly. That creates a context problem. An AI agent cannot accurately warn you that a job is moving in the wrong direction or recommend five suitable candidates every morning when the information it needs is scattered across multiple systems. The next stage of recruitment technology may be less about adding more individual tools and more about creating unified platforms where AI can access the full context surrounding every candidate, client, and job.
