Natalia Markoborodova shared thisIf you’ve been moving “add passkeys” to the bottom of your to-do list because it seems like a lot of work, this is your sign to revisit the idea. Modern Web Guidance is the way to get things built fast. Check it out! 👇Natalia Markoborodova shared thisIntroducing passkey skills— The Chrome team launched an early preview of Modern Web Guidance at Google I/O — a tool that injects web development best practices directly into your coding agents as skills. With Modern Web Guidance installed, coding agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Antigravity can implement various Web APIs following use-case-specific best practices, keeping your codebase aligned with the latest platform recommendations. This includes the passkey skills, so your agent implements passkeys the right way from the start. For example, it can visually display which password manager each passkey is stored in in the passkey management page, making credential management clear for users. It actively leverages the latest APIs: getClientCapabilities for feature detection, JSON serialization, error handling, conditional mediation (sign-in from autofill), Signal API (credential sync), and conditional create (auto-upgrade password users to passkeys). A demo repository is ready for you to try — clone it, install Modern Web Guidance, and prompt your agent. See passkey registration, auth, and management built in minutes. We'd love to hear what you think. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gWnGPqqA

Natalia Markoborodova shared thisEmail Verification Protocol is one of the features I'm most excited about as a user. I can finally skip checking my inbox when signing up! 🙌 Want to be the first to test it and enable it on your site? Check out the blog post.Natalia Markoborodova shared thisEver been annoyed by one of those "confirm your email" messages with a flaky magic link or OTP with clunky copy+paste and that's if the email even arrives‽ Optimistic estimate: 20-30% of those emails* are never seen. We can fix that! If you have *any* email collection on your site, I'd love to see you try it and give feedback. https://lnkd.in/eHMkrnrNTest the Email Verification Protocol with an origin trial | Blog | Chrome for DevelopersTest the Email Verification Protocol with an origin trial | Blog | Chrome for Developers

Natalia Markoborodova shared thisAnd here's Tara's session on Modern Web Guidance. If you build for the Web, check it out to boost your experience with coding agents: https://lnkd.in/eGkRN9CrNatalia Markoborodova shared thisThe videos from I/O Connect Berlin are now live on the Chrome for Developers YouTube channel 🎉 My session is covering Modern Web Guidance, why AI agents default to outdated web patterns, and what happens when you give them the right context upfront. Live demos and internet connectivity don't always cooperate at in-person events... but we got there in the end 😄 Curious though, how are people handling live demos with AI agents these days? The awkward wait while the agent thinks, the moment it decides to crash mid-demo 🙈 there must be some good strategies out there. Let me know👇 Modern Web Guidance is genuinely useful if you're building with AI coding tools, it's a set of expert-vetted skills that help coding agents build for the modern web. We've seen a 33 percentage point improvement in agent correctness when it's installed. Link to the video in the first comment. #ChromeDev #ModernWebGuidance #AgenticCoding #WebDev #DevRel

Natalia Markoborodova shared thisHere's my recap of I/O Connect Berlin 2026! This post is a teaser for anyone attending I/O Connect Bengaluru, which (I can't believe it!) kicks off in just a week! 😁Natalia Markoborodova shared thisConnecting with the developer community and sharing the future of the web platform is at the heart of what we do on the Chrome for Developers team. Today, we are handing the channel over to Chrome Developer Relations Engineer Natalia Markoborodova as she shares her experience and takeaways from this year’s #GoogleIOConnect in Berlin.

This looks so cool! I'd love to feature this demo in this awesome-HTML-in-Canvas demo list where we collect demos developed by the community. Can I add it? 🤩

Natalia Markoborodova reacted on thisNatalia Markoborodova reacted on thisNew video 🎉 I've mentioned Modern Web Guidance once or twice here 👀 AI coding agents write code the common way, not the best way. And, they don't know about recent web platform changes. That's the gap Modern Web Guidance closes, and we've just launched a video series showing some of the individual guides 🎉 Creating these videos has been a journeyyy, so I'd love to hear what you think. All feedback welcome 😀 Link in the first comment 👇

Natalia Markoborodova reacted on thisNatalia Markoborodova reacted on thisToday, Chrome is officially introducing a new set of experimental Ad metrics to the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX). The release expands on existing CrUX data by reporting on four new dimensions focusing on a site's ad experience: 📊 Ad Count: The average number of ads visible in the viewport. 📐 Ad Density: The average fraction of the viewport area occupied by ads. 🌐 Ad Weight (Network Usage): The network resources consumed by ads, measured in KB. 💻 Ad Weight (CPU Usage): The CPU resources consumed by ads, measured in milliseconds. To view these metrics you can use the CrUX API and the CrUX History APIs and for sites with third party ads through CrUX Vis https://lnkd.in/g7GTchxB Check out the Chrome for Developers documentation to learn more about how to access and use these new signals: https://lnkd.in/gvBxeFTi

Natalia Markoborodova reacted on thisNatalia Markoborodova reacted on thisApparently, not even a typhoon could keep me away from Shanghai for Google I/O Connect China 🙈 While there were so many flight delays and cancellations getting into Shanghai because of the weather issues and typhoon Dolphin, I was surprised my flight still went ahead (especially as the turbulence had me holding on for dear life). I loved meeting developers and builders from across the region and sharing what we're up to in Chrome. I spent most of the event at the HTML-in-Canvas booth, which had pretty epic demos of the amazing things you can do with the canvas API and how this latest update is an incredible improvement for accessibility. It was especially cool to share the creative demos and libraries people have already built using HTML-in-Canvas. In between chats with developers, I ran off to run a workshop helping developers get started with Modern Web Guidance. It was a popular session, the room was so full we had lots of people standing and watching from the back! I walked through how you can: ✅ install it with any agent ✅ pair it with Chrome DevTools for agents to find and fix performance issues ✅ audit a site for outdated code against a Baseline target ✅ build new features that make a site feel a little more delightful ✨ If I'm being for real, the best part was the food wheweee 🤤😪😪 so good!
