“I've worked with Patrick in two digital roles, and in both he's consistently impressive, insightful, imaginative and ambitious. He has vision and enthusiasm that benefit his co workers, with an enthusiasm for knowledge and questioning, that impresses his managers. Patrick will deliver real added value to any digital media or marketing team, he's going to go far.”

AI is already changing where opportunity lives. 🌍 Two weeks ago I sat down with Koffi Kelvin and the TRUE Africa podcast team to talk about what that actually means in practice for engineers, companies, and the future of work across Africa. One thing is becoming increasingly clear: the global AI talent conversation is still lagging reality. Too much of the narrative assumes innovation will remain concentrated in a handful of markets. What we’re actually seeing is a rapid shift. Experienced engineers across Africa are not just learning AI tools. They are building production-grade systems and contributing directly to enterprise AI transformation from wherever they are based. At Andela, we see how quickly organisations rethink hiring once they understand what AI-ready distributed teams can deliver. This isn’t about outsourcing. It’s about expanding where innovation happens. And that shift will have a profound impact on economic mobility and standards of living for technologists across the continent. Thanks to the Limitless Africa team for such a thoughtful conversation. 🔗Listen here: https://lnkd.in/dw66WTVc

Great Product Design is not about making screens look good. It is about understanding people, solving the right problems and creating products that drive real outcomes. That is exactly the mindset we want our learners to develop. Michael Oyewusi brings deep practical experience across products, industries and markets, and I’m excited about what our Product Design learners will gain from him. This is what capability-building should look like. Have you ever delivered a project that looked successful, yet didn’t create the impact you hoped for? A while back, I led a digital upskilling project for women and girls, designed to help bridge the African talent gap in tech. It was an inspiring initiative. We achieved over 80% program completion, which looked like a huge success on paper. But during our post-project review, something became clear, even though participation was high, many beneficiaries still struggled to access jobs and real opportunities after the program. That experience changed how I approach projects entirely. I realized that while delivery metrics are important, real success lies in how much value your project contributes to the organization’s or ecosystem’s larger goals. Since then, I’ve used a simple but powerful framework to stay grounded 👇🏽 1️⃣ Start with clarity. Understand the organization’s overall goals (in this case, bridging the tech talent gap in Africa). 2️⃣ Align project goals. Ensure your project contributes directly to at least one of those goals. 3️⃣ Build execution strategies. Design every activity and output to drive that goal forward. Essentially: Org/Business Goals → Project Goals → Action/Execution. If I were to run that project again, I’d go beyond training to integrate career pathways, mentorship, and hiring pipelines — so that participants don’t just gain skills, but also gain access. That’s how projects stop being activities, and start becoming impact stories. Since applying this mindset, I’ve seen: ✅ Greater alignment between project outcomes and organizational growth ✅ Increased visibility and credibility across teams ✅ Success that’s measurable, not just by numbers, but by change Because in the end, projects don’t win because they finish, they win because they matter.
