Matt Damon served as chief content officer of Artists Equity this year, letting his best friend Ben Affleck wear the CEO pants for their fledgling production shop — one built to compensate a larger pool of talent with profit participation points for their contributions to movies and TV series. The company, capitalized by RedBird, released projects including “Unstoppable,” the music doc “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” and a two-hander starring Damon himself in “The Instigators.” That Apple Studios original saw Damon and Casey Affleck put a Boston spin on the classic heist movie, but the real flex of 2024 for the star of “The Martian” was the job he landed for next year. Damon will lead an untitled new film by Christopher Nolan alongside an all-star cast, including Tom Holland, Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
