If there’s one constant in Meron’s career, it’s music, from his very first feature (1989’s “Sing”) to his Emmy win for 2018’s “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.” Among the many creations turned out with late production partner Craig Zadan (who passed away in 2018) are the TV biopic “The Reagans,” big-screen musicals “Chicago” and “Hairspray” and Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva. This year, he exec produced Callie Khouri’s Lifetime movie “Patsy & Loretta,” and he is developing a musical of “Some Like It Hot” for Broadway. For the small screen, he has “Other People’s Houses” (Fox), a suburban dramedy starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, and the drama “Brain Trust” (NBC), then there’s the fantasy musical feature “Hans Christian Andersen” with “Wicked” composer Stephen Schwartz.
