In the beginning... there was Expressionist, created by Allan Bonadio and Associates. Next Theorist - the computer algebra version of Expressionist - was created, with a new company name: Prescience Corporation of San Francisco, California. In 1994 Prescience was sold to Waterloo Maple Software of Ontario, Canada. In 1997 "Theorist" was changed to "MathView". Expressionist was forgotten about. In Europe, "Theorist" was renamed "MathPlus". Don't know why. In 1999, what was Prescience inside of Waterloo, was sold to WebPrimitives, LLC, forming a new company, Theorist Interactive, LLC, with original creator Allan Bonadio. Due to failures by previous owners to maintain international trademarks and other protections of previous product names, Theorist Interactive decided to rename the products yet again (hopefully for the final time!)
MathPlus ---> LiveMath Maker MathView Plug-In ---> LiveMath Plug-In Expressionist ---> MathEQ Expression Editor
In 2004, LiveMath and MathEQ were sold to MathMonkeys, LLC. |
