CIE TC 8-01
Colour Appearance Models for Color Management Applications
Terms of Reference:
To study, develop, and recommend a colour appearance model based on
CIECAM97s for use in digital colour management and to develop clear usage guidelines for
common applications. Consideration is to be given to colour and engineering requirements
for open colour management systems.

CIECAM02:
As of February 2003, the entire technical committee has approved
draft 11 of CIECAM02. This draft has been sent to the Central
Bureaeu of the CIE for divisional and national balloting.
Two preliminary papers on this model were presented at the
10th IS&T;/SID Color Imaging Conference in November of 2002.
An additional paper, "Field Trials of the CIECAM02 Color Appearance
Model" will be presented at the
CIE 25th Quadrennium in June of 2003. An online JAVA-based
CIECAM02 calculator is also available.
Meetings:
Fall 2002: Discussion of draft 9, review sample CIECAM02 prints and remaining work items.
Fall 2001: Nathan Moroney's summary notes (to be posted)
Fall 2001: Ronnie Luo's slides (PowerPoint)
