XML Diff and Merge Tool

• Windows® NT 4.0 and 2000 (tested)
• Linux® and AIX® (should work)

Java^TM tools:

• JDK1.2 or JDK1.3
• XML Parser for Java 1.1.4 or above (Version 2.0.15 included with this package)

On NT:

1. Download and unzip the file to a directory of your choice (for example, d:\smldiff).
2. In the d:\xmldiff\bin\xmldiff.bat file (on UNIX, the xmldiff.sh file), edit as follows:
   • Change the environment variable JDK to point to the Java installation directory.
     
   • Change the environment variable XMLDIFF to point to the XML Diff installation directory (that is, d:\xmldiff).

On AIX and Linux (Korn shell):

1. Download and decompress the file to a directory of your choice.
2. In the xmldiff.sh file in the bin directory, modify the JDK as follows:
   • Change the SWING and XMLDIFF variables to point to the JDK 1.1.6 and Swing 1.0.3 classes and to the directory where you unzipped the file.

To launch XML Diff and Merge Tool, run the xmldiff.bat or xmldiff.sh program you just edited. Make sure the file has executable permissions on your machine.
