Bophut Shopping

What to Buy and Where to Shop in Bophut

The best way to truly appreciate the many souvenir shops in Bophut is to park outside the Fisherman's Village and stroll up and down the main street that contains the shops and restaurants. Take your time – there are plenty of places to stop for a coffee or a beer break.

As you head down to the pier there are several T-shirt and sandals shops but once on the main street you will see fashionable boutiques.

Siddharta

For elegant dresses, beachwear and the obligatory fisherman's pants, Siddharta has well-stocked shelves and items are just that little bit classier than the typical Chaweng boutique.
Location: Fisherman's Village Main Street
Open: 10:00 – 22:00
Tel: 077-245014

Bophut Plaza

Here's where to head to if you need a suitcase full of wooden souvenirs, beachwear, corny-looking 'dyed' wall fans, straw hats, fake Crocs, DVD's and CD's and T-shirts. This somewhat incongruous (for Bophut) mini-plaza comes alive only at night.
Location: Central Fisherman's Village
Open: 18:00 – 23:00

Siri

This compact and elegant shop is owned by Sirisopa 'Toy' Premananda, who originally trained in interior design. She brings an artist's eye to her attractive shop in Fisherman's Village. The frequently changing stock is personally sourced by Toy from around the continent on frequent shopping trips and includes eclectic selections such as handbags from India, China and Malaysia, silver jewelry from all around Asia, designer clothes from Hong Kong, bottled orchids from Bangkok and hand-carved amulets engraved with Thai or Chinese script. Perfect for souvenir hunters with taste seeking something a little different to take home from their holidays.

Samui Robot Group

On the Ring Road it's worth making a stop at the 'Recycled' factory outlet shop that sells fantastic Alien and Predator-like monsters built out of used auto and motorcycle parts. Somewhat scary looking (some of them are huge) they're nevertheless testimony to Thai handicraft skills.
