Kata Yai and Kata Noi Beaches

Kata Beach and Kata Noi Beach are around the Laem Sai headland from Karon Beach. Both of them are lined with resorts and bungalows but with a more quiet and subdued atmosphere.

Mom Tri's Boathouse features an art gallery with rotating shows by local artists along with a jazz band, Thai cookery classes and a superb menu.

This area has great swimming and snorkeling but as with all the beaches on the west side caution must be observed during the monsoon season when the tides are exceptionally strong.
