The capital city of the People’s Republic of China, Beijing (Peking) is a fast-growing, dynamic conurbation that, while courting foreign businesses and visitors, maintains a strong grip on its rich cultural heritage.

Beijing is an ultra-modern city with high-rise buildings, shopping malls and vast international hotels connected by an intricate freeway system crisscrossing the city. All the same, the modern buildings conceal traditional dwellings, parks, numerous architectural world-renowned treasures and yellow-tiled temples whose prayer flags and wind chimes move in the breeze created by the passing traffic.

With a population of 12 million and growing, Beijing is no dwarf in the lexicon of worldwide travel destinations and it features a long list of traditional attractions.
