The Administrative Council heard four candidates for the Presidency at its meeting this week, but none of the candidates obtained the required three-quarters majority. The election process will resume in December.
At its 119th meeting in Munich, the Administrative Council of the European Patent Organisation heard the four candidates for the Presidency of the European Patent Office (EPO). However, voting ended without a result as none of the candidates managed to obtain the required qualified majority of three-quarters of the votes cast by the member states.
The Council therefore decided to continue with the election process based on the same list of candidates at its next meeting in December.
