DISTINCTIVE ASPECTS OF THE COLLECTION
The collection is a good example of what one finds in a small neighborhood branch -- best sellers, a core group of popular fiction and a representative non-fiction collection.

RECURRING PROGRAMMING OFFERED
Preschool Storytime Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. for children accompanied by an adult. Homework help offered most afternoons as well as out-of-school time programming. Additional programs for both adults and children are offered throughout the year.

PLANNING PROCESS
Follow updates about the new East Boston Branch project at our Capital Projects page.

HISTORY
The Orient Heights Branch opened in 1912. The building was built by the Druker family who leased it to the City of Boston. In 1986, the Druker family donated it to the City. Since 1967 the Branch has been linked with the East Boston Branch. After a fire damaged the collection in 1982 the building was reopened as a Reading Room.
