Secondary Education
Mission Statement
The Division is responsible for directing and coordinating Five hundred and twenty-six (526) public Senior High Schools and approximately Two hundred and twenty-three (223) approved private Senior Secondary Schools in the country. Its main objective is to improve the quality of education to achieve better performance at this level.
Vision of The Division
In order to accomplish its vision, the Division has programmed to provide Ghanaian children increased access to quality secondary education which will equip them with diverse skills, qualities and attitudes which together form the sound basis for national socio-economic development.
Objectives and Functions
The Division operates under the following Policy Objectives:
- To provide increased access to secondary education
- To reinforce and build on knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired at the Junior High School level, and to diversify the curriculum to cater for different talents and abilities.
- To produce well-developed and productive individuals equipped with the qualities of responsible leadership, capable of fitting into a scientific and technological world and able to contribute to the development of their communities and the country as a whole.
