Protesters Picket AT&T CEO's Dallas Estate
Demonstrators protesting racism AT&T descended on the Preston-Hollow estate of AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson. The protest comes in response to the scandal around embattled AT&T President Aaron Slator who was caught sending images linking African-Americans to animals.
Slator's emails, say protesters, were reflective of a broader racist culture at AT&T including the company's refusal to work with 100% African-American owned media companies and its low-quality internet service in predominantly black neighborhoods.
The protesters, who plan on remaining in front of Stephenson's home indefinitely, claim that only a decision from AT&T to work with 100% black-owned media outlets will cause them to leave. "It's time for real action, not empty promises," the protesters chanted.
Stephenson's estate at 5404 Walnut Hill Lane is multi-acre property with a 12,000 foot home according to various accounts.
