Facebook has its own emoji images which are easily recognized for their hand gesture emojis being colored blue.
In addition to the regular emoji collection, Facebook now also permits applying an animated emoji to status updates; a feature known as emoji reactions. This feature is undergoing testing, and the emoji selection includes six choices:
- 👍 Like — Thumbs Up
- 💟 Love — Heart
- 😂 Haha — Laughing Face
- ☺️ Yay — Smiling Face
- 😯 Wow — Surprised Face
- 😢 Sad — Crying Face, showing an animated tear
- 😡 Angry — Red / Angry / Pouting Face
The emoji reactions feature is intended as an upgrade to the Like functionality, allowing a wider range of emotions to be expressed. Each emoji does not necessarily correspond to specific emojis in the unicode standard.

The following emoji images appear for users of the desktop website, on a Mac or PC. Facebook apps for iOS and Android currently use native emojis for their respective platform, instead of these custom emoji images.
