Biography

Kristian Brabander is a partner in the Litigation Group at McCarthy Tétrault in Montreal.

Mr. Brabander has a general litigation practice and has appeared regularly before the Courts in Ontario and Québec, as well as the Court of Appeal of Québec. He has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada and various professional bodies and administrative tribunals, including the Administrative Tribunal of Québec and the Commission d’accès à l’information.

In addition to significant experience in medical malpractice cases and other professional responsibility matters, Mr. Brabander has experience in a broad range of litigation areas including commercial contract litigation, insurance matters, shareholder disputes, class actions, defamation, as well as privacy and access to information issues.

Mr. Brabander received his B.A. (history) in 1995 and his LL.B. and B.C.L. in 2001, from McGill University. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2002, to the Québec bar in 2006 and to the New Brunswick bar in 2010.Mr. Brabander speaks fluent English, French and German and is proficient in Spanish.
