02. Positions
You know that dream UX design job?
The one where you get to take the reins, impose your vision, create beautiful things every day, that are loved and used by millions of people every month.
Working with great front and back-end developers, so you can focus on intuitive and elegant digital product experiences with a dash of straightforward beauty.
In a fantastic new office, rammed with dual screen iMacs, up by the Shrine in South Melbourne, where we’re expanding our local design and creative team to work with our existing 70-odd-people-around-the-globe-setup.
To work on making everything WPMU DEV better, and better, and better.
And Edublogs, and CampusPress, and cool new stuff we haven’t even thought of yet… hey, got any ideas?
Oh, and you’ll thoroughly enjoy the relaxed culture, friday lunches, massively non-hierarchical setup and opportunity to come up with and drive forward the things that you care about most.
We’re looking for awesome writers to join our WPMU DEV Blog team as ongoing contributors.
The WPMU DEV Blog is the largest online resource for quality WordPress tutorials, publishing informative, creative and in-depth articles that cover recent developments within the industry to more than 1.5 million visitors each month.
We work with writers all over the world and our current team is made up of developers, freelancers and bloggers who all specialize in WordPress. From in-depth tutorials, to opinion pieces, personal stories and product/service reviews, this is your chance to dig deep and have your work read by millions of people.
The contributor role involves:
It doesn’t matter where you’re based, location is unimportant. The important thing is that you’re communicative, whether that be over email or Slack. We’re a distributed company, after all.
How many articles you would like to write for us is entirely up to you, though we are looking for individuals with personality who can write quality stuff with expertise and authority. We will not be accepting applications from writing syndicates.
We get a lot of interest from people who want to write for our blog. In order to maintain the high quality of our articles, however, we need you to show us what you’ve got by jumping through a couple of hoops. We need two things from you:
Please include your URLs and article suggestions with your application below. If you neglect to include these required details, you will not receive a reply because you didn’t read this job ad :) (and if you’re reading this right now, awesome! About 90% of people don’t!)
When we review your articles/examples, we’ll be looking for:
All of our contributors are paid, but just how much depends on the length and quality of your articles. Before we publish your work, we always make sure both sides agree on the publishing and payment conditions. Of course, you are welcome to include a link to your website on your author profile, should you join our writing team. This is a great opportunity for you to engage with people who read your articles, build your reputation in the WordPress community, and grow your social media following.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Are you fed up with the same routine, day in, day out… wake up, work, eat, rinse, repeat… yawn… dreaming of making a change, making a difference and doing something you enjoy from anywhere in the world you fancy?
Stop dreaming about tomorrow, start making a difference today. Join our team and be the hero you’ve always known yourself to be!
The role will involve:
Location, that is unimportant, as long as you are available, enthusiastic, committed, passionate, and know your WordPress.
Reach for the skies, we have a heap of many challenges and opportunities for those who aspire to do more!
