I hope someday they release an Eclipse version that actually works so I can start a project without out-of-the-box errors.

This was suggested to me as my first programming tool to use from a fellow java coder. I love this over many available options out there that I've inspected first hand. I switched to operating Python ...for some obvious reasons, and thankfully Eclipse support Python too! I will probably stay with Eclipse forever......I mean, have you seen Komodo, Idle, and every other one out there? .....without question, Eclipse is the best. See More

On the one side I love Eclipse: I use it since years and I love that it supports multiple languages and it's a part of my daily life. But the last days you lost your stars for me: First thing I update...d to Luna and my m2e support is broken (found out that there is a patch released, but I only fixed it on one computer). Next I get my brand new notebook with a very nice resolution, but what about eclipse. It makes so small icons you have to search for it and you cannot find them anymore. Checked if there is a ticket for it and realize that this problem is with every high res environment (except Apple Retina) and the ticket is already a year old.
I need Eclipse as my primary work tool, I doesn't need to be fancy (don't say no if it is), but I just need a usable work environment.

I am using a book that was written only one year ago to learn Android application development. I'm already struggling because of the significant differences between Eclipse now and the way it was les...s than a year ago. This really is unacceptable. I don't have time to be looking for additional resources to understand the differences while I'm still learning the basics. And moving forward, I'm not going to have time to keep learning new layouts and processes within the IDE as they are changed significantly on a nearly constant basis. Application development is complicated enough by nature; we don't need such constant unnecessary changes making it even more difficult. Moving forward, you should better consider your users. When you do, I'll be more willing to donate. See More

So ive gone from Luna2 to Mars2, now back to Luna2.
I dont know what happened to versions after Luna2, but whatever it is, it's made Eclipse super sluggish for what seems to be very little other impro...vements (i use CDT). See More

I give it zero stars. It does not work well on a mac. I've spent more than 2 hours trying to be able to create a new android project unsuccessfully. I've been taking a class where we work with exis...ting projects and that works fine but our final assignment is to create one from scratch and Eclipse won't let me do that...it freezes EVERY time. Even though sometime it gets stuck or it is very slow, this is a great development tool, probably the best open source one. It is configurable and there is a slight chance to find a plugin for almost ...all your dev needs. See More

Very capable, extremely extensible IDE. It might be annoying to get started due to the sheer capabilities of this tool, but it is worth the effort to learn.
