Click Action Sounds – Click Sound Effects for Buttons, Links & Forms

Click Action Sounds adds a little personality to your website: when a visitor clicks a link, presses a button, or submits a form, a sound plays. Use it for fun, or use it thoughtfully — a soft chime on a “Book now” button, a gentle beep on “Add to cart” — to make key actions feel tactile and memorable.

Every click, tap and hover can have its own sound effect, so the audio feedback matches what the visitor just did rather than firing the same noise at everything.

Features:

  • 84 built-in sounds in nine packs: UI & Interface, Retro Game, Cartoon, Jingles, Animals, Business & Trades, Body, Nature, and Spooky
  • Choose a default sound, then give internal links, external links, buttons, and form submissions their own sound — or silence any of them
  • Optional hover sounds for buttons and links (off by default, and never on touch screens)
  • Add your own sounds from the Media Library (MP3, M4A, WAV, or OGG) and give them names
  • Volume control — slide it to zero to mute everything without changing your sound choices
  • Optional “no sounds on touch devices” setting
  • Optional “let the sound finish before navigating” setting for longer sounds
  • Lightweight: one small script on the frontend, no external requests, no tracking

Sounds only ever play in response to a visitor’s action, so they work in every modern browser without autoplay problems.

What you can use it for

  • Shops — a click sound on Add to cart, a chime on checkout, so buyers get confirmation that the button did something.
  • Booking and enquiry sites — a discreet sound effect on “Book now” or a form submission, so visitors know the click registered.
  • Quizzes and courses — a quiz feels far better when each answer clicked makes a sound. Popular on kids’ sites and education sites, where clicking should feel like something happened.
  • Games and gamification — the Retro Game pack gives buttons an arcade feel; the Cartoon pack suits playful brands.
  • Interactive demos and portfolios — UI sounds make a prototype or showcase feel finished.
  • Novelty and seasonal — the Spooky pack for October, Animals for a pet site, Jingles for a launch.

How it decides what is a button

Themes and page builders disagree about what a button is, so the plugin looks at the markup rather than trusting the theme. It listens for clicks on links, button elements, and submit inputs, and treats anything carrying a btn or button CSS class or role="button" as a button. That covers the block editor’s Button block, block themes, and buttons built by the common page builders, plus the submit button on most contact and enquiry forms — no per-theme configuration and no shortcodes to place.

Sounds included: clicks, taps, pops, blips, beeps, boops, dings, chimes, bells and tings in the UI pack, plus retro arcade blips, cartoon boings, jingles, animal noises, workshop and business sounds, nature, and a handful of spooky ones. All are short, so they finish before they get annoying.

A note on taste: with great sound comes great responsibility. A subtle click delights; a foghorn on every link does not. We trust you.
