Customize the contact form fields

When adding a contact form, you can include different types of fields, such as text boxes, buttons, checkboxes, drop-down selections, and more. This guide will show you how to customize the fields of your contact form.

Add new form fields

To add additional fields and options into a form, take the following steps:

  1. Use the List View to select the field you want to add another before or after.
  2. In the toolbar that appears, click the Options icon (⋮) and then select “Add before” or “Add after” to create a space for a new field:

  1. Click the + block inserter and search for any of the following form fields you can add:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Website
    • Text input
    • Number input
    • Multi-line text
    • Date picker
    • Phone number
    • Terms consent
    • Checkbox (single choice)
    • Multiple Choice (checkbox)
    • Single Choice (radio button)
    • Dropdown field
    • File upload field
    • You can also add any other block not specific to forms, such as an Image block or a Paragraph block (for text).
  2. Click the up or down arrows in the toolbar to reorder the form fields as necessary.
  3. Click the Save or Publish button to save your changes.

Remove a form field

To erase a field from your form, take the following steps:

  1. Use the List View to select the field you want to remove.
  2. In the toolbar that appears, click the Options icon (⋮) and then select the “Delete” option:

Make a field required or optional

To make any field in your form required or optional for your visitor to submit, take the following steps:

  1. Click on the form field you wish to make required or optional.
  2. In the toolbar that appears, select the * button in the toolbar to make a field required, or un-select it to make a field optional.
  3. Click the Save or Publish button to save your changes.
The asterisk icon is selected, so the field is required.
When the asterisk is selected in the toolbar, the field will show as required.
