Academica support for PHP 8+

Hi!
Academica seems to have support for PHP 7.4 but not higher (https://wordpress.org/themes/academica/). Is there an update scheduled with the upgrade to a more recent version of PHP, like 8.3 if not 8.4?
I like this theme and I don’t want to change it to another, but I guess I will have to if there will be no further updates.

I run a WordPress site with an Academica layout on an installation with PHP 8.3.10
So far, I haven’t noticed any problems.
Of course, it would be better to have a statement or approval from the developer.See also: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/php-warnings-in-php-8-1/
