• Hi, I have been using Jetpack for more than 5 years and I never had a problem with it until the previous month. One day, suddenly, my website went down without a reason and the only way of saving it was deactivating Jetpack and Jetpack Boost. I thought it may was an update issue (although it had no update at that time, the crash happened quite randomly) and I waited for a couple of weeks for the next update. Last week, when I updated both plugins I tried again to reactivate it, but it shows me the message of “fatal error” when I try to. So, I decided to delete it… And I can’t! It also gives me an error. How can I solve this?

  • depending on how your hosting is organised, use a file manager to delete the /plugins/jetpack directory. WordPress will disable the plugin automatically.

Hey @nazamo – As @nikdow mentioned, please log in to your site via FTP or SFTP or cPanel > File Manager and go to the wp-content/plugins/ folder and delete the folder named jetpack.

    • If you are not sure how to log in to the site via FTP or SFTP or cPanel > File Manager, I would recommend approaching your hosting provider and they will help you log in.

Once done, reinstall the Jetpack plugin from WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New, and reconnect Jetpack.

Let me know how it went!
