I updated the plugin to the latest release, then pushed a change to my website. It didn’t upload the website font. It was missing from wp-uploads/elementor/google-fonts. There were other versions of Montserrat, but not the specific one montserrat-exxxxx that was used in my website.

I tried tweaking with the “Enhanced Crawl” option tags in the settings, adding some, removing some. It kept generating even less files somehow? Until I included all the tags, it generated a lot more files/folder, but even then the font was missing.

The new “Enhanced Crawl” is confusing and not working properly, messing with the settings breaks stuff even more.

Disabling “Enhanced Crawl” didn’t fix the issue.

Reverting to version before 3.4 for now. It worked flawlessly before, I don’t know why break it.

    Hey @vertigo98,

    thanks for reaching out.

The fix for this will ship in tomorrows update.

In all honesty, I’m this close to making Elementor support pro-only soon. The amount of time we have to spend to fix broken Elementor code and find workarounds for all the stuff inside Elementor breaking WordPress conventions (CSS, JS, and font files in wp-content/uploads, no proper MIME-types for files, huge memory issues with their bundler, hardcoded URLs in JS) costs us hundreds of hours each year.

I’m not sure why we should bother with that anymore within the free plugin.

    Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your quick reply. I appreciate you acknowledging the issue and confirming that a fix is on the way.

I also want to apologise if my initial message came across too strongly. I was a bit frustrated, as I’ve always relied on this plugin to work flawlessly straight out of the box. I’ve been using it for years and often recommend it to others, so it caught me off guard.

I understand the new Enhanced Crawl is designed to improve performance, though I admit I wasn’t entirely sure how to fine-tune the settings.

I also hadn’t realised how complex compatibility with Elementor could be.

Keep up the great work! This really is the best plugin of its kind.
