Amazon Now, Amazon’s ultra-fast delivery service, has launched in Manchester, offering thousands of groceries and household essentials in about 30 minutes or less. The expansion to Manchester marks the first city outside of London to get the service following the launch of Amazon Now in the capital earlier this year.
“Amazon Now brings a new level of speed and convenience to customers, delivering thousands of groceries and household essentials in less than 30 minutes," said John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager of Amazon.
“It’s the latest example of our commitment to faster delivery, building on the millions of items we already deliver the same or next day to customers across the UK.”

Amazon Now is available seven days a week through the Amazon app and website, offering thousands of products across 35 categories delivered in about 30 minutes or less.

To get orders to customers in minutes, Amazon Now uses a network of micro fulfilment centres that are strategically positioned near residential and inner-city areas, with sites in Southwark, Bethnal Green, Battersea, Lewisham, Hampstead, Notting Hill, Haringey, Walthamstow and Wembley, alongside East Manchester, with sites in Salford and Stockport to follow in the coming weeks.

Customers in eligible Manchester postcodes can shop from a wide selection of items, including everyday essentials like milk, eggs, fresh fruit & veg, toothpaste, pet treats, nappies, medicines, and more, alongside local favourites from Kellogg’s, PG Tips, and Warburtons.

Amazon continues to invest in its logistics and delivery capabilities, with speed more important to customers than ever. Over the last few years, delivery speeds have accelerated for Prime members, with Same-Day and One-Day Delivery available on millions of items.

Delivering packages faster isn’t a matter of moving faster within facilities or in transport, but through Amazon’s continuous innovation across its operations network—including placing products closer to customers, meaning they have less distance to travel and can get there quicker.

Saving money with Prime

Prime members get discounted Amazon Now delivery fees starting at just £1.99 per order (£3.99 for non-Prime members) and free delivery on orders over £20, adding to the savings and benefits already available with Prime membership. A £2 fee applies to all orders under £15, regardless of membership.

Prime members already enjoy fast, free delivery on millions of items across all categories, year-round low prices across a wide selection of products, and access to exclusive deals and shopping events like Prime Day, as well as award-winning entertainment on Prime Video and Amazon Music.

Growing demand for groceries and household essentials

Amazon continues to invest and innovate to further expand online delivery of groceries and household essentials, with this area now representing one in three items ordered daily.

In early 2025, Amazon’s Everyday Essentials category—which includes groceries and household items—grew almost twice as fast as all other categories, and Amazon Now customers will have access to a carefully curated selection of the most popular products in this space.

Innovating across the UK

Amazon Now is currently available to customers in select postcodes across Central and East Manchester. Customers in eligible Manchester postcodes can find Amazon Now in the menu at the top of the Amazon homepage or app.

We'll share more news about the offering in the coming months as Amazon continues to make shopping easier, faster, and more affordable for customers across the UK.
