How do I log into my apps and services?

If you use Google Password Manager, you’re in luck! It’s already installed on your new device. If you store passwords or passkeys in another password manager:

  1. Download your password manager
  2. Go to settings and tap “passwords & accounts” (or search “passwords”)
  3. Switch the toggle next to the password manager you want to enable

If you used iCloud to store your passwords or passkeys, you will need to log in to your apps and services manually.

Will I have to repurchase my apps? What about my subscriptions?

Most free apps will move over when you use a cable to transfer data. For purchased apps on your iPhone, we recommend contacting the app developer.

Your existing subscriptions will continue to work, but your billing will still be managed the way they are today — either via the app developer or App Store.

How do I get WhatsApp chats and data onto my new Android device?

You will have the opportunity to transfer your WhatsApp chats when you transfer your data during setup. You will need to use a cable to connect your iPhone to your new Android and follow the on screen instructions. Learn more here.

What if I don’t have my old device?

If you previously backed up data with Google One, you can restore content, data, and settings from an old device, even when you don’t have it anymore. While setting up, skip “set up using another device,” and choose to restore data from an old device.

Make sure you connect to a Wi-Fi network and sign into your Google account during device setup to view and select your available backups.

I have everything backed up to iCloud. Can I use iCloud with Android?

You can request a copy of your iCloud photos and videos to transfer to Google Photos. Visit privacy.apple.com to start the process. Request to transfer a copy of your data and sign in to your Google Account. The transfer process takes 3–7 days. Learn more here

I use an eSIM, what should I do?

During setup, you can download a new eSIM or insert a physical SIM. If you’re transferring an eSIM from another device, wait until after setup to begin the transfer in Settings.
