Karl Hille

Karl digs into stories about science, engineering and medicine that matter to people’s lives. He translates complex science and health concepts into engaging, relatable stories. Previously, Karl covered cutting-edge technology R&D at NASA Goddard and wrote science and health news for the Baltimore Examiner. While earning his master of arts at UMD’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism, he investigated sea level rise in the Chesapeake Bay and the state of investigative journalism in post-Soviet countries. In his free time, Karl can be found outdoors or in the basement, where he enjoys collaborative storytelling through Dungeons and Dragons and play-testing the emerging tabletop role-playing game, Age of Eana.
