Visit Jersey appoints group to deliver survey

Visit Jersey has appointed a research group to deliver the Visitor Exit Survey Programme from 2026 to 2028.

The organisation said the exit survey was a "comprehensive research programme" throughout the year to deliver "robust statistics" on volume, characteristics and experiences of island visitors.

It said the survey was based on the UK Office for National Statistics' International Passenger Survey (IPS), and adapted to suit the "transport and visitor context on the island".

Tourism South East (TSE) Research has been appointed to deliver the survey which is effective from 1 January 2026.

Chief executive of Visit Jersey Tricia Warwick said the organisation brought "extensive experience" in tourism research, having delivered equivalent statistics for the Isle of Wight for 26 years, as well as the passenger survey for the Isle of Man.

She said: "We are also pleased that an experienced Jersey-based statistician will be retained to support with statistical analysis, ensuring continuity and a deep understanding of Jersey.

"Understanding the island's visitor demographics and tracking visitor trends is crucial for the private and public sector to make evidence-based decisions to support Jersey's visitor economy."

The surveys provide key statistics on the number of visitors, visitor type, and length of stay, and are conducted via interviews with a sample of passengers at Jersey Airport and Elizabeth Harbour, Visit Jersey said.

It added the survey was an internationally recognised way of measuring visitor economy performance.
