Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) was born in Nashville and raised in the suburb of Antioch. His birthday is Dec. 4, 1984. He wrote his first rap when he was 9 or 10, and was sharing his mixtapes by the eighth grade. After he was incarcerated, he returned to music, self-releasing albums and sharing his music on YouTube.
