Charles Williams Cain was born on March 28, 1975, in Sherman, Texas. He grew up in Texas and later attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he earned a bachelor's degree and was a member of the school's water polo program.

After Pepperdine, Cain enrolled at the University of Texas School of Law and earned his J.D. in 2000. Although he became a licensed attorney in Texas, he ultimately decided that practicing law was not the career he wanted.

After law school, Cain spent a period living and working on a ranch in Montana while attempting to write a book. He returned to Texas following the death of his father in 2001 to help care for his younger brother.

Media Entrepreneur

Cain entered the media business as an entrepreneur rather than a television personality. After returning to the Dallas area, he purchased two small community newspapers and subsequently expanded his holdings into a local newspaper group called Cain Communications.

He eventually sold the business to Stephens Media, which at the time owned publications including the "Las Vegas Review-Journal."

Cain later founded Quince Media, a Hispanic-focused media company centered on the quinceañera market. The business produced magazines, websites, and live events aimed at young Latina consumers and their families.

His work with Quince Media earned him recognition from "Folio" magazine as one of the 40 most influential people in the magazine industry in 2007. His earlier work with Cain Communications also landed him on the Texas Press Association's "20 Under 40" list.

CNN and The Blaze

Cain gradually transitioned from operating media companies into appearing on television and online political programs. He hosted the National Review video series "Off the Page" and became a contributor to CNN.

In 2017, ESPN signed him to a new multiyear contract, and he became a co-host of "The Ryen Russillo Show" with Ryen Russillo. After Russillo left ESPN Radio, Cain eventually received his own daily program.

Cain left ESPN in 2020 and joined Fox News. He became a co-host of "Fox & Friends Weekend," where he worked from 2020 until early 2025.

During his tenure, Cain interviewed figures from politics, entertainment, and sports, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.

In January 2025, Fox News announced that Cain would take over the weekday 4 p.m. time slot previously occupied by longtime business anchor Neil Cavuto.

"The Will Cain Show" debuted on January 21, 2025, and attracted approximately 3.5 million viewers. Fox said it was the highest-rated daytime show launch in the network's history and more than doubled the network's 2024 average audience in the time slot.

The program blends straight news coverage with Cain's commentary and interviews covering politics, sports, business, and culture. Cain has continued hosting the show through 2026 while simultaneously maintaining a separate midday podcast and digital program under the "Will Cain Country" name.

The move gave Cain two regular daily media platforms and represented the most prominent role of his broadcasting career.
