Jason D. Killmeyer

Chief of Staff, Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans

Jason Killmeyer serves as the Chief of Staff of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Strategy, Policy and Plans. In this role, Mr. Killmeyer advances the DHS mission by driving key policy initiatives on border security and deportation, trade and economic security, international affairs, homeland threat protection, artificial intelligence and other cyber issues.

Through the Office of Strategy, Policy and Plans, Mr. Killmeyer drives strategic development of policy initiatives and tracks their real-world execution. He ensures the coordination and collaboration necessary for successful policy implementation and the change it brings to the American people.

Mr. Killmeyer’s two-decade career includes over ten years in key executive roles with large staffs and multibillion-dollar budgets. Roles included founder/CEO, chief operating officer, and chief of staff for mature private-sector organizations. Several of those senior leadership roles involved collaborating with federal agencies to enhance national security and find solutions to critical issues of American safety and sovereignty.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Killmeyer helped run the Intelligence Community’s largest foreign terrorist watchlisting program, earning a Meritorious Unit Citation and keeping numerous known or suspected foreign terrorists from entering the United States.

A proud native of Pittsburgh, Mr. Killmeyer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Arts degree in Middle Eastern Studies from American University.
