How to do Basic Load Testing with Postman?
Load testing is an important way of ensuring the performance and reliability of web applications under various levels of stress. Postman, a popular API testing tool, offers capabilities for conducting basic load testing to simulate multiple users accessing an API concurrently. In this article, we'll explore how to perform basic load testing with Postman to assess the performance of your APIs.
What is Load Testing?
Postman load testing is a method of testing the performance and scalability of an API (Application Programming Interface). Load testing involves simulating multiple users or clients accessing the API simultaneously to see how it performs under different levels of load.
Steps to Testing Load using Postman
To showcase how to do Load Testing, We are using the Demo API, which is a free, open-source API that can be used to get random test data.
Step 1: First, you need to open up Postman and create a collection. Do this by clicking the + icon under the “Collections” tab.

Step 2: Now, We have add some Demo collections of api requests, you can add any free API to test.

Step 3: Now click on the three dots as shown in the image and then click on "run collection".

Step 4: Now You have move to a runner tab, so click on the functional button where you can see some bunch of options like run manually, schedule run, number of iterations, Delay, etc.

Step 5: Click on "Run Manually" and then click on "Run Demo Collections".
Now you will see the API status Code and the time it took.
