Locals Fight to Save Homes From Destructive Malibu Fire

A man captured dramatic footage as he desperately tried to save homes from being destroyed by a fast-moving wildfire that was sweeping through Malibu after breaking out on December 9. Brian Rapf, a local resident, teamed up with neighbors and firefighters, using garden hoses to try to protect his home and those nearby as the flames came dangerously close. In an Instagram Stories post, Rapf said that his house and his mother's house did not burn, and that he made it out "relatively unscathed." "Sorry to my friends and neighbors that weren't as lucky," he wrote.
