JERUSALEM: Israelis flock to Wailing Wall for Shavuot holiday

ERUSALEM - MAY 26: Thousands of Israelis poured into old Jerusalem on Friday (May 26) to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Shavuot (Feast of Weeks), which lasts until Monday evening.The orthodox Jews gathered at the Bab al-Kattanin Gate (the Cotton Gate), one of the entrance gates to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.But the Israeli security officers did not permit the passage of the group. They walked to the Western Wall (also known as the Wailing Wall) which is adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, passing through Bab al-Silsila (Chain Gate) entrance.Since 2003, Israel has been allowing settlers into the compound almost daily.
