Born from her passion for ethical hospitality, Valentina and her team run this six-suite trailblazer with warmth and professionalism conceived around a 100% plant-based, ethical and sustainable philosophy that celebrates the region’s rich history, vibrant culture and fabulous local cuisine all at once. Respect for nature and all living things are at Il Mansio’s heart, proving that going plant-based doesn’t have to affect quality in design or gastronomy. From its culinary magic to pared-down, chic interiors, every aspect may be vegan but it’s beautifully elegant, refined and totally relaxing.

The limited number of suites – three have terraces with Jacuzzis – ensures an intimate, private vibe, and as part of your stay, you’ll have exclusive use of the wellness area for two and gym’s wooden non-electric equipment. (In fact, the entire property may be exclusively hired; staff included.) Ciclopista del Garda, a 140km/87-mile cycle path, is literally on the doorstep, which begs to be explored on one of Il Mansio’s e-bikes; for when you’re not enjoying a tailor-made sightseeing itinerary as recommended by a knowledgeable member of staff that is.

No-one is more knowledgeable in their field than Il Mansio Locanda’s skilled chefs who are on hand to provide a delicious vegan picnic to power your pedals or enhance a boat trip with apéritifs as you’re guided around the islands and waterside palaces. They’re also adept at creating inspired menus for private events and tasting experiences held within the dining room and/or garden accompanied by a wine list of over 100 vegan-certified Italian and French labels featuring botanical/alcohol-free options.
