As June comes to a close, we want to take a moment to honor National Aphasia Awareness Month. More than 2 million people across the United States live with aphasia, a language and speech disability, including MOPD’s Commissioner Nisha Agarwal. Commissioner Agarwal shares her personal and powerful story through an op-ed published today in Able News entitled, “The Mayor’s Disability Commissioner on Finding Her Voice Again.” In her own words, Commissioner Agarwal shares a story of vulnerability, resilience, and empowerment.
