As states reshape the rules around #datacenter development, Adams & Reese Partner and Construction Team Leader Trent Cotney joined Construction Dive to break down what Pennsylvania's new executive order means for developers, contractors, and large-scale construction. The order establishes environmental and infrastructure standards for new data center proposals and creates two permitting paths, giving developers a choice between committing to responsible development benchmarks for faster approval or pursuing traditional local permitting. Trent noted this reflects a broader national shift, with developers needing to address power, water, environmental permitting and community concerns much earlier in the process. A recent Florida Second District Court of Appeal decision confirms that individual condominium unit owners can challenge a mechanic's lien, even when the contract was between the contractor and the association. In a new article, Adams & Reese construction Partner Ryan Owen (Sarasota) and Associate Allison Zunica (Tampa) explain the court's ruling affirming a unit owner's right to challenge a mechanic's lien arising from work contracted by the condominium association. The decision makes clear that unit owners who did not consent to the underlying work are not left without recourse simply because the association approved it.
