This weekend, 27 hospitals and more than 440 clinics across California, Oregon, and Hawaii went live with a single connected health record. It took over four years and thousands of people. Analysts who mapped every workflow. Super Users who trained their colleagues. Nurses and providers who learned a new system while caring for patients through the night. What it means is simple. A patient's full story now follows them, whether they are seen in Portland, Bakersfield, or Honolulu. Their care team sees the whole person, and our clinicians get back time to spend with patients. Our network Ambulatory Medical Officer Raul Ayala, MD, MHCM, is helping shape the future of healthcare in California and beyond. Dr. Ayala was recently appointed to California’s Rural Health Policy Council, where he will help inform efforts to improve healthcare access, address workforce shortages, and strengthen care in rural communities. He has also been named by the California Medical Association to the American Medical Association House of Delegates, representing California physicians in conversations that will help shape medicine and patient care nationwide. We’re grateful to have Dr. Ayala representing Adventist Health and the Central Valley communities we serve, while bringing the voice and needs of rural healthcare to a broader stage. There are few things more fun than a graduation! 🎓🎉 Congratulations to all of the incredible residents who graduated from our Adventist Health Graduate Medical Education program last night! It’s such a joy to celebrate the next generation of physicians as they reach this milestone after years of hard work, long days and nights, and true dedication. I’m especially excited that BOTH of the residents who rotated with me in our Anticoagulation & Thrombosis Service are staying local to practice!! We’re officially 2 for 2, and I’m hoping to keep that streak alive for years to come! 🙌 What a tremendous win for our local community and most importantly, for the patients we will have the privilege to serve together. Congratulations to Adventist Health's first-ever graduation of LAUNCH! What began as an idea to expand opportunity, build skills, and invest in talent has officially become a reality with the wrap of this first cohort. 33 Participants completed 25 hours of healthcare exploration, including hands-on activities, panels with healthcare professional, and introductions to a wide range of healthcare careers and concepts. I’m incredibly proud of our graduates and grateful to the instructors (Ariel Armanino, Nehemiah Sitler and Noelle Del Carmen), partners at WE Will! Workforce & Education K16 Collaborative and Capital One, and front-line team members who helped bring this program to life. This graduation goes beyond completing LAUNCH Explore and signals the start of new career pathways, ongoing growth, and momentum for what comes next.
