What a visit to the awesome nuclear manufacturing site of Framatome this week. In the digital/AI age, energy capacity = economic capacity. We need more energy and nuclear is crucial to that future. I love big engineering and this is as big as it gets. Restarting and accelerating the building and uprating of nuclear in the US is the core of Alva Energy's mission. Thank you team Framatome for the gracious hosting this week!
As Alva transitions from engineering to deployment with our hyperscaler and utility partners, one thing is clear: the fastest path to nuclear requires an extraordinarily resilient supply chain — one that can deliver safely, at scale, and with the highest quality. That's why Alva CEO James Krellenstein, board member Pat Gelsinger and members of our team visited Framatome's Paris headquarters, the Le Creusot forge, and the Saint-Marcel assembly plant — the heart of one of the only vertically integrated nuclear design and manufacturing enterprises outside of Russia and China. A sincere thank you to our hosts Joel Drennan at Framatome North America, Marc Duret, and Mallet-Guy Hubert for an extraordinary visit. Under the leadership of Projects, Components, and Manufacturing (PCM) Business Unit Senior Vice President Jean-Bernard VILLE, Framatome's manufacturing enterprise is undergoing a dramatic expansion, backed by a multibillion-euro investment. The scale and urgency of this transformation is exactly what this moment in nuclear demands. Framatome is the company that delivered the Messmer Plan — 56 reactors in 15 years, the fastest nuclear buildout in history. That capability isn't a memory. It's alive, and it's scaling.
