  • On this World Day of Prayer for Vocations, we invite you to join us in praying for the men and women God is calling to serve His Church. ⛪🙏 In the Archdiocese of Detroit, we are especially grateful for the seminarians and priests discerning and living out their vocation through Detroit Priestly Vocations. May the Lord of the harvest raise up holy priests, deacons, and consecrated religious for our local Church. And may those who hear His voice have the courage to say yes. “Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Matthew 9:38

  • “God will ask us if we have cultivated and cared for the world that He created, for the benefit of all and for future generations, and if we have taken care of our brothers and sisters. What will be our answer?” — Pope Leo XIV This Earth Day, we recognize creation as a beautiful gift from God, entrusted to our care. In the simple and sacred moments of daily life, we are invited to respond with gratitude and responsibility. As joyful stewards, may we protect our common home and care for one another in ways big and small, reflecting God’s love in all we do. 🌎🕊️

  • On April 18, men and youth gathered for the Men’s Conference, coming together to grow in faith, fellowship, and spiritual strength. Rooted in Christ’s call to put on His armor and follow the King, the day offered inspiring sessions for youth, heartfelt worship, Adoration, confessions, and the celebration of Mass with Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger. Attendees were invited to encounter God’s peace and courage for themselves and their families in the midst of life’s challenges. Thank you to everyone who joined us for breakfast, lunch, and our ministry fair. It was a blessing to share this day of prayer and fraternity together. 🙏 ¡Fuerza y paz en Cristo!

  • Happy International Pet Day! 🐾 In this Year of St. Francis, we celebrate the gift of all God’s creatures. Across the Archdiocese of Detroit, our Catholic schools are home to some very special companions. Sweetie and Vito at Divine Child bring joy, comfort, and plenty of tail wags. Roz, the bearded dragon at Mercy High, inspires curiosity in and out of the classroom. And Arthur, the beloved “therapy sausage” at Gabriel Richard, keeps spirits high. These beloved companions do more than visit; they reflect St. Francis’ love for creation and help our school communities grow in faith, love, and care.

  • Sacred Heart Major Seminary was blessed to welcome Fr. Kevin G. Creagh, CM, Ed.D., for a visit and the opportunity to spend time with our community ahead of his appointment as the 15th rector and president on July 1. A priest, educator, and formator with decades of experience, Fr. Creagh spent time connecting with priests, faculty, and staff as he prepares to begin this new role in service to the Church. We also give thanks for Fr. Stephen Burr and his 18 years of faithful service to Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Please join us in praying for both Fr. Creagh and Fr. Burr during this time of transition. ✝️🙌

  • “Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised.” – Luke 24:5 In the darkness of night, the light of Christ broke forth at the Easter Vigil at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. With Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger, we witnessed the beauty of the Church alive as new members were welcomed into full communion and the promise of the Resurrection was proclaimed once again. May the risen Christ fill every heart with joy, strengthen our faith, and renew us in the hope that only He can give this Easter season. ✝️🌿
