🇫🇷 We had a busy day in Paris yesterday! In the morning, we hosted a TA breakfast at our customer Dust’s office. Reece Batchelor walked us through what’s possible to build in Dust, Conor Riordan shared best practices for AI-assisted application review and candidate fraud signals in Ashby, and we finished with a workshop on discussing where AI can actually remove bottlenecks in the hiring process. Tactical and hands-on. In the evening, we co-hosted a Talent Leaders Dinner at Edith Restaurant with the D2 collective. Ashby customers Estelle Pasteau from Alan and Lucas D. from Voodoo joined a fireside chat on how they’re managing AI transformation and getting buy-in from leadership and the wider business. The strategic side of the same conversation. Two sides of the same challenge. How to actually do it, and how to bring the business with you. Thank you to Reece Batchelor and the Dust team for hosting the morning, to Lucas D. and Estelle Pasteau for sharing their insights at dinner, and to Vivienne Macchiarelli at the D2 collective for putting together a brilliant evening.

3x the application volume. Offer conversion rates at a 5 year high. And more work on recruiters with minimal change to the candidate experience. These are some of the findings in our latest update on Recruiter Productivity. In this Talent Trends Report, we analyzed over 109M applications and 247K jobs from January 2021 through March 2026 to understand how recruiter productivity has shifted. We found: 📈 Recruiters are managing nearly 3x the volume as Applications per Hire tripled from 2021 to 2024 and remained above 300 throughout 2025. 💪 Hires per Recruiter have recovered from 2023 lows with the average recruiter currently closing around 7 hires per quarter. ⚖️ Technical roles average nearly twice the interview hours of business roles, creating a clear interview intensity gap by job function. 🎯 Offer conversion rates reached a 5-year high for business roles. Although getting an interview is harder, those who do are more likely to receive an offer. The increased burden has landed primarily on recruiting teams, not candidates. And the data shows teams are rising to meet it. Read the full 2026 Talent Trends Recruiter Productivity Report: https://hubs.li/Q04dDqxM0 And if you’re joining us in SF at Ashby One, look forward to hearing from Felicia Menon of Juniper Square and Scott Bonneau of Shopify on some of these findings in our Talent Trends panel!

We didn’t want to make “conference swag." Instead, we partnered with Amsterdam-based ceramicist Milou Broersen to create something we've wanted for a while: a cup that's truly Ashby's own. For this collaboration, she hand-mixed and tested materials until she landed on a color that captures Ashby's signature blurple in ceramic form. The result is the Ashby STACK Cup 200. Handmade in Amsterdam. Designed for daily use, built to last, and made to earn its place on your desk. Get yours at #AshbyOne SF next week! Video captured an edited by: Tomek Whitfield

Last night we sponsored Chapter 2's London event on staying human at the speed of change—a panel with Steven Bartlett and Dr Kristen Holmes PhD, hosted by Leo Harrison The room was full of senior talent and people leaders, and there were a few themes that felt worth pulling out: → The hiring bar is shifting—fast. AI fluency is becoming expected (especially at entry level), but adaptability is the real signal. → Most hiring processes haven’t caught up. We’re still optimising for interview performance, not how someone operates in ambiguity. Without more scenario-based assessment, that signal is easy to miss. → 1% a hundred times beats one big bet. Progress is coming from compounding small improvements, not waiting for a step change. → Adoption is a systems problem, not a tooling one. AI tools alone don’t change outcomes—how teams are set up to use them does. → The constraint is how teams work. Without psychological safety and space to experiment, progress stalls. Thanks to Leo, Steven and Kristen for a thoughtful conversation, to Chapter 2 for bringing the room together, to Convene Hospitality Group for hosting and to everyone who joined us—great to see so many Ashby customers there on the night.
