VO2 max matters beyond fitness. Emerging research suggests it's one of the strongest indicators of: 🔹 Cardiovascular health 🔹 Metabolic efficiency 🔹 Longevity and disease risk To capture the full picture, VO2 max is most useful when interpreted alongside other markers, including cardiometabolic health, body composition, and inflammatory markers, as well as data around recovery and sleep. Learn more about what VO2 max is, why it matters for longevity, and how Biograph measures it as part of a comprehensive exam: https://biogra.ph/4sD07lo #Biograph #VO2Max

"The biggest takeaway is clarity paired with direction. For many members, it’s the first time they’ve seen a complete, clinically rigorous picture of their health and not just isolated data points, but how everything connects. Just as importantly, they leave knowing exactly what to do next." - Dr. Michael Doney, MD, MPH, MS, Executive Medical Director, Biograph Biograph isn't your average annual physical. It's a longevity experience built around 30+ advanced assessments, like whole-body MRI, VO2 max testing, a comprehensive blood panel, and more, all wrapped in an environment designed for complete privacy and tranquility. A Low-Dose Chest CT, or LDCT, is a specialized imaging scan that detects lung abnormalities at an earlier stage. It uses significantly less radiation than a standard CT scan and can identify issues before symptoms appear. And when it comes to lung cancer, early detection dramatically changes outcomes. New research is reshaping how we think about longevity, and what preventive care should look like moving forward. We’re proud to see Dr. Michael Doney, MD, MPH, MS featured in Physician's Weekly, sharing how emerging research is changing the conversation around lifespan, genetics, and early intervention. One of the most notable findings: genetics may account for nearly 55% of lifespan variability, significantly higher than previous estimates. Read the full piece ⬇️ #Biograph #Genetics
Excited to share a piece I recently contributed to Physician’s Weekly on how new research is reshaping our understanding of longevity. One of the most striking insights: genetics may account for nearly 55% of lifespan variability, far more than previously estimated (20-25%). This shift has important implications for clinical care. As our understanding of biological risk deepens, medicine has an opportunity to evolve toward earlier identification, clearer interpretation, and more proactive intervention. Longevity ultimately depends on applying better clinical judgment sooner, with a more complete view of each individual... an approach we're actively applying at Biograph. A well-designed blood panel can surface early signals of cardiometabolic risk, inflammation, and organ stress, often long before symptoms appear. Part 2 of our series on blood panel testing for longevity breaks down what a true comprehensive blood panel includes, and what you should actually be looking for across key biomarkers. It’s no surprise that proactive healthcare came out on top. Among a field of impactful interventions - from not smoking and vaccinations to exercise and metabolic health - proactive healthcare was recognized as one of the most valuable tools for supporting longer healthspan and lifespan. In a world focused on optimization and the next big breakthrough, some of the greatest gains in long-term health still come from doing the fundamentals well... and doing them consistently. At Biograph, that belief is at the core of what we do: helping people understand their health more clearly, identify risk earlier, and take a more proactive approach moving forward.
Longevity March Madness 2026 — We Have a Champion! 🧬 🏆 After weeks of matchups, thousands of votes, and a bracket that included everything from lifestyle interventions to cutting-edge geroscience... The winner is: Proactive Healthcare. In the championship matchup, the 10-seed Cinderella defeated Optimization of Metabolic Health in a decisive 67.5–32.5 victory. What makes this result so interesting isn’t just the outcome—it’s the path. Proactive Healthcare advanced through a field of 64 interventions that included: - Lifestyle fundamentals like Not Smoking and Strength Training - Evidence-based medical therapies like Vaccination and SGLT2 inhibitors - Leading geroscience interventions like Rapamycin and Caloric Restriction Along the way, it knocked off Vaccination, Maintain Oral Health, and even the #1 overall seed, Not Smoking, before closing it out in the final. The winning “intervention” wasn’t a molecule, a supplement, or a single behavior. It was a strategy. - Early detection. - Risk factor management. - Prevention before disease develops. In a field that often focuses on optimizing the margins—new compounds, novel pathways, and emerging technologies—this result is a useful reminder: The biggest impact on healthspan and lifespan still comes from systematically identifying and managing risk early and consistently. That doesn’t make the other interventions unimportant—far from it. But it does highlight something we sometimes overlook: Execution of the fundamentals matters more than any single breakthrough.

The expression “quality over quantity” applies to blood panels, too. Optimal health isn’t about checking boxes. It’s about understanding patterns, context, and what to do next. Our latest article breaks down what blood panels really measure, and how to interpret them through a longevity lens.
