Financial Services

The leading infrastructure provider of digital asset solutions, offering custody, wallets, staking, and trading.

About us

BitGo (NYSE: BTGO) is the digital asset infrastructure company providing the foundation for the digital asset economy. Founded in 2013 by technologist Mike Belshe, the company was established on the conviction that digital assets would redefine the global financial system. BitGo became the first to commercialize multi-signature wallets and later developed advanced Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) technology to set the industry standard for digital asset security. Today, the company delivers a comprehensive suite of services transforming how institutional capital is managed and deployed. From regulated custody, wallets, staking, trading, OTC services, financing, and settlement, BitGo unifies these services within a single, secure environment and enables the real-time mobilization of assets, reducing the friction and risk inherent in legacy financial rails. This infrastructure is underpinned by a global footprint of regulated entities and anchored by BitGo Bank & Trust, National Association, a federally chartered digital asset bank under the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The company's mission is to accelerate the transition of the existing financial system to a digital asset economy through a commitment to transparency, monetary freedom, and borderless, 24/7 markets. BitGo serves as the operational backbone for thousands of institutional clients, including the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges and regulated platforms.

Every time the share of bitcoin untouched for 6+ months has fallen 10% or more since 2011, price was pushing into a new high. That has happened 7 times, and each one saw long-term holders selling into strength. Right now, 81% of all bitcoin has not moved in at least six months, close to the top of its historical range.

Happy Friday and Q4! Today's Digital Asset Report is in. A 140+ company consortium, including Visa, Stripe, Mastercard, and Shopify, just launched OUSD, a new stablecoin with over $1 billion in launch liquidity and a reserve-yield model that shares revenue with partners instead of just the issuer. SEC Chair Paul Atkins says crypto clarity is moving ahead with or without Congress. Plus, bitcoin's best third quarter since 2017. 📈 👇

September is behind us, and the ETF flows are in: US bitcoin ETFs took in ~$2.65 billion, with BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC pulling in $2.49 billion of it, or 94% of the total. A year earlier those same two funds captured 91%, so the concentration at the top has tightened. The month also marks a major improvement from June, when the category saw $4.5 billion in net outflows.

Roughly 30% of all Bitcoin UTXOs today sit in addresses whose public keys have already been exposed onchain, the exact thing a future quantum computer would need to target. On the Stephan Livera Podcast, BitGo CEO Mike Belshe makes the case that this is already fixable: BitGo's wallets show that exposure directly and restructure how they spend to avoid creating more of it. His broader point is simple. If every wallet provider did the same, quantum resistance wouldn't be a future problem to solve, it would already be solved. You can check your own exposure using BitGo's Quantum Resistance Checker, which scores any Bitcoin address using only public onchain data: https://lnkd.in/gRfjBW-s

"Institutional markets are becoming more open, interoperable and capital-efficient. Institutions should be able to choose where they custody assets and where they execute without sacrificing access to liquidity.” - Star Xu, Founder and CEO, OKX. We’re putting that principle into practice by expanding our integration with BitGo internationally through Go Network Off-Exchange Settlement. Eligible institutions outside the U.S. can now access OKX liquidity while supported assets remain in segregated, regulated custody with BitGo Singapore. Building on our existing integration for U.S. institutions, this creates a more consistent global model for separating custody from execution, while enabling efficient post-trade settlement. Owning crypto is the starting point, and the conversation has moved on to what follows. A portfolio in custody can serve as collateral, earn income, or hedge risk, and at BitGo Prime it can do all three while staying in qualified custody. Crypto-backed loans provide liquidity against diversified holdings, including staked and locked assets, with no forced sales. Lending to BitGo Prime puts idle balances to work earning yield, and OTC derivatives let a long position generate premium. Get more from your assets: https://lnkd.in/gdFWq3X7
