Education can save lives. Today on International Overdose Awareness Day, we recognize the importance of teaching young people early about the dangers of drugs, overdose, and addiction. By doing this, we can give them the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves. Talk early. Listen without judgment. Help save lives. 🗣️
About us
Rainbow Days helps children and youth in adversity build coping skills and resilience to create positive futures by providing them with the skills and support they need to make healthy choices, stay drug free and believe they have a purpose. Through an array of direct services, including Rainbow Days’ own CBSG® Program, classroom presentations, summer camps, family outings and other supportive services, over 9,000 children and youth living in high-risk situations in the Dallas area learn life-changing skills and receive caring support from positive adult mentors as they benefit from Rainbow Days’ programs each year. Through our Training division, we expand the scope of our programs across the United States by training youth-serving professionals in our CBSG® Program and providing workforce development opportunities to thousands of participants each year. Through our work, Rainbow Days has positively impacted over 241,000 kids since 1982! Founder – Cathey Brown CEO – Tiffany Beaudine

We asked our team about the substance use myths they hear most often, and one stood out: many people believe it’s harmless for youth to try substances “just once.” The truth is that early substance use can increase the risk of addiction, especially while young brains are still developing. Prevention research shows that avoiding substance use is the healthiest choice for youth. Share this post to raise awareness and encourage youth to say “NO” to drugs.

More than 150 people die every day from overdoses related to synthetic opioids like fentanyl. This National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, take time to understand the risks and look out for one another. Fentanyl can be hidden in counterfeit pills or other drugs. Even a small amount can be deadly. Talk with someone you trust. If you suspect an overdose, call 911 immediately. Share this post to help others recognize the risk and respond quickly.
